Crowther, Eli D., Corporal, mustered Aug. 12, 1862, mustered out June 20, 1865; Wounded in action, May 5, 1864, Wilderness, Va. Remarks: Wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness by a musket ball entering the right side of his back just above the hip and exiting the front of his right side slightly higher than where it entered. Later the same day, Pvt. Crowther was again wounded by a musket ball under his left arm or shoulder this wound apparently being not so serious as the first. He was carried from the field to the regimental hospital. Eli D. Crowther died on February 19, 1926. He is buried at Grace U.M. Church cemetery, Black Rock Rd., Upperco, Maryland in the 5th District of Baltimore County where he was born more than 81 years earlier.

Remarks: An AEGIS obituary around 1916 stated that Henry Eppers had participated in 86 battles, was wounded once during that time and was held at Libby Prison in Richmond. He had immigrated to America from Denmark as a young man.

Jones, John L., Sergeant, mustered Aug. 14, 1862, mustered out June 20, 1865. Remarks: Sgt. Jones was wounded in action at Winchester (the battle of the Opequon) on September 19, 1864. He received a gunshot wound to the left hip while carrying the colors of his country and regiment. Sent to Chestnut Hill General Hospital (Mower Hospital, U.S.A.), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Text of declaration as follows: "first duty Sergeant, John L. Jones of Co. I, 6th Reg., Md. Vol. Infty. has whilst gallantly bearing his countrys colors in an engagement with the enemy, wounded, and sent to the rear, all this at Winchester, Va." John J. Bradshaw, Late Capt. of Co. I, 6th Reg. Md. Vol. Infantry. Sgt. Jones returned to service at the siege of Petersburg on February 27, 1865.

Kearney, Samuel, 1st Sergt., mustered Aug. 4, 1862, mustered out June 20, 1865. Remarks: Cited in reports by Bvt. Brig. Gen. J. Warren Keifer, commanding Second Brigade - "I have the honor, as required in orders, to forward the names of enlisted men, who, by their gallantry and good conduct, deserve rewards at the hands of those in authority. The above-named enlisted men of the Sixth Maryland are each reported by their company and regimental commanders as having been conspicuous for bravery in the charge on the 2d instant, and in the battle of the 6th instant at Sailor's Creek, Va." Among those specified was First Sergt. Samuel Kearney.
